Avast Antivirus is blamed for the collapse of Windows 10 April 2018 Update

The Avast antivirus program has been accused by a handful of users of crashes and blue screens during the latest major Windows 10 April 2018 Update update.

A relative and in-depth description of the problem posted on reddit and reports in short that most systems that have the same unpleasant symptoms during the of Windows 10 April 2018 Update, had Avast antivirus installed.

This could perhaps be the evidence that possibly a recent Avast update could have created in compatibility with Windows 10 April 2018 Update, causing errors in the operating system, which users can only resolve by fully reinstalling Windows.

Systems running Avast antivirus display three optionss after upgrading to Windows 10 April 2018 Update. Windows Rollback and Windows 10 on Volume appear twice. While the first option triggers a reboot, the other two try to complete the boot, only to end up with a blank, black desktop with no icons and a loading error message on the desktop.

Ο of Reddit under the nickname gcdrm, says he works at a small computer repair shop, and reveals that several systems upgraded on May 20 and 21 experienced the same problems.

"So far, the only solution we have found is to reinstall Windows," they said. "It seems that everyone who has fallen victim to this problem has used Avast Antivirus. However, this problem only occurred on systems that attempted the 1803 upgrade in the last two days. This means that a very recent Avast update interferes with the upgrade process. Read / write rights seem to be corrupted. ”

While neither Microsoft nor Avast have acknowledged the issue, users on Reddit are recommending that users offered the Windows 10 April 2018 Update uninstall Avast antivirus before starting the process. None are required for users who have already completed the upgrade successfully.

  1. For you I do not think Avast is to blame because I have total bitdefender and I did uninstall and reinstall now if both are to blame I do not know
