It also provides a real-time reference about the use and historical data about the virtual machine license status. Reporting and tracking data is available on the virtualization server.

On virtualization servers that are powered by a multi-license license or an OEM license, AVMA offers many benefits.

Datacenter administrators can use AVMA to do the following:

• Enable virtual machines in remote locations
• Enable virtual machines with or without connection to Internet
• Monitor virtual machine usage and licenses from the virtualization server, without requiring permissions accesss in virtual systems
• No product keys to manage. The virtual machine is turned on and continues to work even when it migrates to another series of virtualization servers.

 

How to use the AVMA key

• In a Windows Server & Hosting Datacenter virtualization, install and configure the Microsoft Hyper-V Server role. For more information Install Hyper-V Server.

• Create a virtual machine and install a supported server operating system.

• Install AVMA key in virtual machine. From a command prompt with administrative privileges, run the following command:

slmgr / ipk AVMA_key
