At 09/12 of 2021 we announced Bitdefender's decision to stop releasing the free Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition application.

"The decision to discontinue a product is never easy.
This is especially true when a product is as popular as our Free Edition product in recent years.
From the beginning of 2020, we had to face huge changes in our industry, changes that overturned many of our favorite product development plans.
Unfortunately, Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition was a victim of these changes.
From 1 January 2022, Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition will be officially discontinued and will no longer be available for use. ”
But a new move by Bitdefender will please many, since it has decided to release a new protection product for free Appliances with Windows three months after cancellation of the first application.
The company announced the release of Bitdefender Antivirus Free at corporate blog. The post states that the application has been created from the beginning. Bitdefender Antivirus Free "offers improved features, better functionality and an improved user experience compared to the previous free version," according to Bitdefender.
The same application is available for MacOS and Android
