Two brotherly blogs, the Hacked and CryptoCoinsNews, decided to follow Mel Gibson's method in the film "Ransom”(The abduction) and to denounce the DDoS blackmailers, with the amount they demanded as ransom.
It all started this morning, when both Blogs saw a DDoS attack take place against their server infrastructure. Three hours after the attack began, they received an email from a man with the name John.
The attacker claimed to run a botnet that he plans to use for attacks DDoS. He said that in today's attack only 20% of them were used capabilities of the botnet. Jon demanded a ransom of 2 Bitcoins, which would increase to 3 Bitcoins if he was not paid within days.
Rather than surrender the ransom to the blacksmith, the two blogs increased the anti-DDoS software settings and decided to end up with the 5 Bitcoin attacker. The amount of 5 Bitcoins corresponds to the current exchange rate at around € 1.500.
"If you can help us locate the blackmailers so that the police can catch them, you will receive five bitcoins," Samburaj Das said in a statement.
Bloggers are looking for information such as real name, address, and where else they are attacking to allow researchers to track their DDoS attacks. Any information you can send to the email crypto@ cryptocoinsnews.com.
