At yesterday's BMW shareholders meeting, CEO Harald Krueger revealed that the company is preparing to launch the first autonomous her vehicle after five years:
2018 will release a BMW i8 Roadster. 2021 will be followed by the BMW i NEXT, our new innovation, with autonomous driving, digital connectivity, smart lightweight design, a completely new interior and ultimately bringing the next generation of electromobility on the road.
With these few details, it's hard to say that it will look like i NEXT, but the German carmaker has already shown us that it is dreaming of the next generation of its cars. 
As you can see in the image, the upcoming vehicle combines sporty styling with innovative ideas, such as the use of recycled carbon in the chassis, reflective side windows that will reduce heat from the sun inside car, and closed wheels for improved aerodynamics.
Let's say that the company collaborated in August with 2015, with Audi and Mercedes, for the acquisition of Nokia's HERE maps to $ 3, billion dollars, which would be used to develop mapping technology in stand-alone driving.
Last December, Nokia said it was developing its HERE service by adding high-resolution maps for self-driving cars and collection anonymous data from the vehicles of these car manufacturers that will update the maps in real time.
