According to Bloomberg, potential buyers of Boston Dynamics could be Amazon, two companies with experience in using robots.

At present, though there are speculations, it is not clear why Google, or Alphabet, has made the decision to sell Boston Dynamics.

Boston Dynamics was founded in 1992 by Marc Raibert as a spin-off of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her research focuses on moving robots and was largely funded by the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
