The phenomenon of bullying has reached great proportions in Greek schools, as more than 1 in 10 schoolchildren they have been victims of intimidation, vulgar verbal attacks and internet trolling.
Medicines comments for external appearance, obscene gestures, spreading malicious rumors for the purpose of publicity, but also threats via Facebook, make up the so-called bullying, of which approximately 10-15% of Greek students, children and teenagers have fallen victim, states in a publication of the daily.
In fact, the Research University Institute of Mental Hygiene reports that 8,5% of teenagers state that they are bullied at least two three times a month, while 15,8% admit to being bullies. In a corresponding research carried out in 2002, the percentage of those who declared that they bully others did not exceed 9,1%.
From a large survey of the "Smile of the Child", in the context of a pan-European campaign, it turned out that about 32% of students have ever been bullying (34,2% boys, 29,71% girls) and 30,2% perpetrators of such incidents.
