Meet the Cable Robot Simulator

The Simulator is not the fashion anymore. Though 90 has enjoyed great glory, today it is mostly limited to military installations or some software development studios.

simulator

The main reason for their limited circulation is the high cost of ownership, since they are technologically developed to a very good extent, so they are even used for airplane pilot training. Still some people out there continue to develop simulators like this Max Planck Institute presented to us by Cable Robot ( with ).

The Cable Robot is one simulator which is made of carbon fiber and looks like a cage with a seat in it of. The whole suspended by eight cables. Corresponding motors take over the movement of the 8 iron cables and thus the user sitting in the seat can move in 3-D directions in all combinations of the 3 axes of space.

This simulator can give accelerations up to 1.5 g as a feedback to the virtual reality the user is currently seeing. Right now, developers have built simulation of car and flight racing, but imagine just how fun it would be if we could play Forza Motorsport or War Thunder on this thing.

The device is original at the moment, and as you can see, it is not the ideal product for a home unless you have an empty basketball court. Still, it looks a lot of fun, and if you see it at a toy fair in the near future, don't miss the opportunity to try it out.
