CAINE 9.0 Quantum: CAINE (Desktop Aided INvestigative Environment) is a GNU/Linux distribution based on Ubuntu. 
It is designed by the Italian programmer Nanni Bassetti and offers a complete digital forensic environment. The distribution was updated 25 October 2017 today in 9.0.
The new version is called "Quantum," and is powered by the long-term supported Linux 4.4.0-97 kernel and Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus).
The operating system CAINE 9.0 Quantum after a year of hard work comes with UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface), and new tools.
Added / Modified tools RegRipper, VolDiff, SafeCopy, PFF tools, pslistutil, mouseemu. NBTempoX, Osint: Infoga, The Harvester, Tinfoleak regfmount, libregf-utils and many other applications have been installed.
The SSH server was disabled by defaultchoice (the manual page says how to enable it again). SystemBack usesit is now like a system installer.
