The VLC is now expected to reach three billion downloads and the people behind the program are duly celebrating the CES 2019 report.
VLC is a free, open source video player that can play any form of media available. Except today's new 3.0.6 version which is now expected to catch the three billion downloads.
The Variety visited the VLC VideoLan's pavilion at the CES 2019 International Exhibition where its people count downloads and are getting closer to the three billion mark. The VideoLan team expects this figure to be caught sometime today on Friday, with about 25% of all downloads going to mobile devices.
In a festive mood, the company's representatives said VLC will work to bring AirPlay to its platform in the future. The Variety report says developer Jean-Baptiste Kempf believes that this could be in the coming months.
