The VLC is now expected to reach three billion downloads and the people behind the program are duly celebrating the CES 2019 report.
VLC is a free, open source video player that can play any form of media available. Except today's new 3.0.6 version which is now expected to catch the three billion downloads.
The Variety visited the manufacturer's booth companyVLC's VideoLan at the international exhibition CES 2019, where its people are counting the downloads and they are getting closer and closer to the number of three billion. The VideoLan team expects that number to hit sometime today Friday, with around 25% of all downloads going to mobile devices.
In a celebratory mood, company representatives said that VLC will work to bring AirPlay to platform her, in the future. Variety reports that developer Jean-Baptiste Kempf believes the feature could arrive in the coming months.
