We will not go into details about the use of the application, it is similar to the web version of the chatbot.
You can use it to chat with the AI, access your chat history, use the app to generate text, code, images, etc. There is an option for Temporary Chat, which will limit the app's access to your history, memories usage, or data.
However, it still stores the chat contents on the server for 30 days, for security reasons.
You can open the ChatGPT app for Windows with the Alt + Space shortcut, provided the program is running in the background. We should mention that the application remains minimized in the taskbar.
According to the app description, the ChatGPT app for Windows supports all of the company's models, including the OpenAI o1 preview, which is also a premium-level feature. The application is an Electron program.
But it doesn't give you anything more for free than if you enter from the page, simply instead of writing from the page, you write from there. The subscription remains the same, that is, if you have a free account, you will have exactly the same restrictions...
