Google today released its 36 version Chrome browser for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android. Among the changes that the new version brings are various additions and improvements, as well as the usual bug fixes and performance improvements. You can update to the latest version now using the pro's built-in silent updaterletterbrowser, or download it directly from google.com/chrome.
Here's the changelog of Chrome 36.0.1985.122 as posted by Google:
- Rich Notifications Improvements.
- An Updated Incognito / Guest NTP Design.
- The addition of a browser crash recovery bubble.
- Chrome App Launcher for Linux.
- Lots of under the hood changes for stability and performance.
There is not much detail beyond the above. The disclosures are slightly insignificant with a flat appearance. In the incognito mode, the new tab page has been updated.
We should mention that Chrome 36 fixes 26 security issues that Google chose to list two points:
- [$ 2000] [380885] Moderate CVE-2014-3160: Same-Origin-Policy bypass in SVG. Christian Schneider discovered it.
- [393765] CVE-2014-3162: various fixes for internal audits, fuzzing and other activities.
