Chrome Energy and Memory Saver available for everyone

Google has released a number of optimization features designed to improve battery life and memory usage on machines running the latest desktop version of the Chrome browser.

Chrome's new Power Saver and Memory Saver features were first announced in December last year with the release of Chrome 108 but now, the two optimization utilities are starting to roll out globally on desktops with Chrome 110 for Mac, Windows and Chromebooks .memory saver

Memory Saver mode essentially blocks Chrome tabs that aren't currently in use to free up RAM for more intensive tasks and create a smoother browsing experience. battery saver

But don't worry if you're one of those who run browsers with 100+ tabs open, as those inactive tabs will still be visible and can be reloaded at any time to pick up where you left off.

The websites you use most often can also be flagged by Memory Saver to ensure they always run at peak performance.
