Microsoft Edge has a sidebar that allows anyone to access various tools such as Bing Chat, Outlook, MSN games and other features alongside the browser itself.
Google has a similar feature called 'side panel', which takes information from the company side and adds features from Google Search, hinting at a possible Bard or SGE (Search Generative Experience) integration. For those who don't know Search Generative Experience (SGE) uses artificial intelligence to summarize web content, to help you understand topics faster, explore new opinions and ideas.
With the sidebar, Google seems to have copied the Microsoft Edge sidebar idea, but it's currently available in the Chrome Canary beta.
A particularly interesting detail is the section "About this resource». It provides details about the sources of a particular web page, offering information such as a description, platform information, and when Google first indexed/served the site.
In Chrome Canary, the Google sidebar currently has useful features such as a reading list, Reading mode bookmarks, and Google Search (which we mentioned above).
