Chrome Cleanup Tool: The fight against malware is an ongoing battle that evolves as technology on both sides continues to develop. So right now it makes perfect sense to use every tool at your disposal to keep your computer safe.
What you may not know is that Chrome in Windows has its own malware scanner. It runs periodically to clear the unwanted software in your browser, but you can use it to run scans whenever you want.
Below we'll see how to unlock your Chrome malware embedded scanner.
Click the menu button in the top right corner of Chrome and choose Settings.
At the bottom of the list, click the Advanced button to display all the options.
Under Reset and cleanup click on choice Computer cleanup.
Inside, you'll see the Find and Remove Malware option. This choice is basically the Chrome malware scanner. Click the Find button to perform a scan.
Once it's done, Google Chrome will let you know if it finds something harmful to your computer. If it does, you can remove it.
The next time you want to use the feature you can easily do so from the link below: (copy and paste to line Chrome addresses)
chrome://settings/cleanup
If you do not see the option, make sure you have updated Chrôme on last edition from the menu Menu - Help - About Google Chrome.
Note that this is not a general-purpose malware scanner. It only checks for malware that "hits" Chrome. So, you should always have a reliable antivirus (updated).
The scanner will help you remove any program hijackers tours, and can be used when you see pop-ups, pages search that you did not set, or virus alerts. In general, if Chrome seems slow to you, use the scanner.
