According the data According to Statcounter's July 2025 report, the world's most popular browser is further solidifying its position. Last month, Chrome increased its market share to 69,98%, climbing to a new all-time high (+3,09 points).
Microsoft Edge is second, but the gap between the two browsers is wide and growing. In July 2025, Microsoft's browser lost a significant portion of users, dropping to 11,8% from 13,06%.
Microsoft is trying to win back the users it lost by introducing the new Copilot feature with smart page summarization, multi-tab environment, navigation paths, and more.
However, users don't seem to be letting Microsoft's AI influence their browsing. Of course, it will be interesting to see how the market reacts to this new idea.
Google, on the other hand, is preparing more AI-powered experiences for Chrome, understanding the potential threat from new-generation browsers, such as Comet from Perplexity.
The market shares of other browsers also declined, succumbing to Chrome's overwhelming dominance. Apple's Safari is third with 6,51% (-1,83 points).
Firefox is fourth with 5,32% (-0,52 points) and Opera is fifth with 2,2% (-0,43 points).
In the telephony market, things are similar, with the exception of Microsoft Edge, which is nowhere to be seen despite having some pretty useful features, such as extension support and dedicated ad blockers designed specifically for Microsoft Edge.
Google Chrome is first with a market share of 67,32%, Safari second with 22,42% and Samsung Internet third with 3,5%.
Although the press releases will range from very select to rare, I said I'd pass...because sometimes the editors hide.
