Η Community Health Systems (CHS) of the US recently revealed that hackers have breached their network and stolen personal information from approximately 4,5 million patients.
The report says the attackers violated the CIS network between April and July of 2014. The Mandiant, the company that did the research for hacking found that the group responsible for the attack type “Advanced Persistent Threat” comes from China.
The information that has been intercepted concerns names, telephone numbers, social security numbers and other details of recorded patients.
Η service claims no credit card numbers, medical or clinical information was stolen.
According to TrustedSec, hackers managed to gain access to the service systems, exploiting its famous vulnerability OpenSSL "Heart Bleed."
