The abovementioned action was carried out in our country under the coordination of the Electronic Crime Prosecutor's Office in cooperation with local police authorities from nine airports.
A total of three aliens were arrested for internet fraud and a regular case file at the expense of another foreigner.
A case involving a foreigner who, using stolen credit card details, was also traced to the issue of air tickets for the purpose of trafficking passengers between countries in Europe and Africa

An international-scale joint police operation has been successfully completed within the framework of the worldwide anti-fraud action, via the Internet, in the aviation sector involving the services and experts of the Greek Police.
The coordinated police operation, in which police authorities from (43) countries participated, was implemented on the initiative of Europol, on the two days of June 15-16, 2016, while for theorganization (5) coordination centers were established at the global level.
The arrests, in the framework of the operation, amount to one hundred and forty (140) persons, of which three (3) persons - aliens were arrested in our country and specifically at the Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" and the State Airports of Heraklion " Kazantzakis "and Rhodes" Diagoras ".
As it emerged, the air tickets of the three arrestees were issued using credit cards, with hidden information and ignorant of legitimate beneficiaries. For the same reason, a case file was also dealt with at the expense of another foreigner.
Additionally, a business case involving a foreigner who was using stolen credit card details was issuing an air ticket for the smuggling of passengers between countries in Europe and Africa. A case-file has been formed for this case and will be submitted accordingly.
At the national level, the action was carried out under the coordination and supervision of the Electronic Crime Prosecutor's Office in cooperation with the Police Authorities of the "El. Venizelos" in Athens, "Μακεδονία" in Thessaloniki, "Ioannis Daskalogiannis" at Chania, "N. Kazantzakis"In Heraklion,"Ioannis Kapodistrias" in Corfu, "Captain Vas. Konstantakopoulos"In Kalamata,"Diagoras"In Rhodes and the Santorini and Mykonos National Airports.
