The Clonezilla Live is a Live CD, which contains disk cloning software similar to Norton Ghost. Saves and restores only used tracks on your hard drive.
With Clonezilla, one can clone one system of 5 GB on 40 computers in about 10 minutes.
Clonezilla is based on Debian, and is specifically designed for disk and partition copying.
The distribution includes besides its own specialized tools and some well known to Linux friends, such as partimage, ntfsclone and partclone. All this enhances the distribution capabilities as it helps it to copy a wide variety of filesystems: FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS for Windows, ext2, ext3, ext4, reiserfs, reiser4, xfs bx, jftr, jfs, xfs MacOS Linux and HFS +.
It also copies UFS for FreeBSD, NetBSD, and OpenBSD, minix for Minix, and VMFS3, VMFS5 for VMWare ESX.
The Clonezilla distribution recognizes logical volumes in Linux (LVM2) and recognizes network controller drivers, sambafs, sshfs, etc.. So it can create copies security and on remote computers via SSH, Samba or NFS.
