CrossOver soon Windows apps on Android

CrossOver: How would you like to be able to run Windows apps on Android devices? It seems that it will become a reality very soon without the use of the Linux Wine application.

For those who don't know the Wine app a Linux-specific API that allows Win32 applications to run in the Linux environment.
For example, you can run Photoshop in a Linux environment. Of course, although Wine has been around for several years, its developers have not yet managed to add to the list of allowed applications running on Linux, for Windows.

But today we will "talk" about a commercial version of Wine called CrossOver.crossover on android

The new app is called CrossOver and is being developed by CodeWeavers. The application is particularly focused on compatibility with most Windows applications that are popular on Linux as well.

The same application started being developed for Android devices using a modified Linux kernel. The special version of CrossOver for Android will be released at the end of 2015. The developers of the application are developing it to provide the ability to run popular Windows applications on Google's mobile platform.

With the new app you will be able to connect a mouse via USB On-The-Go (OTG USB) for Android devices, you will also be able to use and USB keyboards on Android tablets.

you will only need a USB OTG cable that plugs into the microUSB port on your Android device and will allow you to connect USB peripherals.

Simply put, CrossOver will be able to run Windows apps on Android this way, which is not as easy as a virtual machine.
Many applications that use an API that Wine does not support will not run. Wine and CrossOver are neither emulators nor virtual machines.

Wine is an API layer – meaning it requires the same basic CPU architecture. So Windows applications for PC, as we know require x86 processor, so it will also need x86 architecture on Android device!
But most Android devices, including most and tablets are based on ARM chips. Thus, these devices with ARM chips will not be able to run Windows applications.

The good news is Intel Atom powered Android devices are on the rise. Thus, x86 Android devices will be released which will be able to run Win32 applications on your Android tablet.
