Japan's Display Display Panel (JDI), Japan, announced it has built the first tablet screen with 10,1 inch diagonal and 3840 x 2160 pixels. This panel achieves a pixel density of the order of 438ppi, the highest value ever achieved worldwide.

In comparison, as the Phone Arena reports, the best performance is achieved by the Samsung Galaxy Tab PRO 8.4 tablet panel offering 2560 x 1600 pixels and 359ppi density. At the same time, JDI had already built an 12,1 4 inch 2K365K LCD panel that achieved pixel density XNUMXppi from the previous year.

The 10,1 inch panel manufactured by JDI uses Low-temperature Poly Silicon (LTPS) technology that offers low power consumption and low profile, making it ideal for use on portable devices. As far as its technical characteristics are concerned, it offers a 1100: 1 contrast ratio, 160 viewing angles and brightness specified in 400 nits.

In addition to announcing the existence of this panel, JDI did not disclose whether some manufacturers were interested in acquiring and using it in future tablets.

It is worth noting that Japan Display Inc. (JDI) is one of the leading panel panel makers in small and medium sizes, and is the leader in the LTPS LCD panel technology. Company panels are used on smartphones, tablets, embedded dashboard devices, digital cameras, medical equipment,

The JDI was created only in April of 2012, with the merger of the monitor panels manufacturing divisions of Japanese companies Sony, Hitachi and Toshiba.
