Samsung seems to pay particular attention to the development of "convex" devices, since it is already planning to launch such devices until the end of the year.

References to Korean media refer to the introduction of a new Galaxy series, based on Samsung Display's innovations and the ability to produce convex and flexible panels. Samsung Display is reported to have invested about 1,9 billion dollars in the development of this category and plans to present end products within the year.

Curved monitors, however, are a "step back" for Samsung, compared to fully folding, flexible screens, since they simply overlap the edges of the device. Such device panels were introduced during the 2013 CES report. Samsung Youm, whose screen expanded to the point where the device frame would normally be, was shown. Various information, such as text messages, could be viewed on those surfaces.

According to market estimates, the Korean company seems to have preferred the conservative way of testing devices with convex screens as issues relating to the development of flexible batteries for devices with fully flexible displays should be addressed.

Devices with convex screens seem to be Samsung's first step to test the market for similar devices on the market. Analysts believe the important step will be in the second half of next year, when it is estimated that Samsung will be ready to present the first folding models, like its new flagship.

It is worth noting that Samsung has demonstrated a demonstration of flip-flop screen technology at a closed event during 2014's CES. At the same time, CEO Kwon Oh-Hyun said during last year's Analyst Day that Samsung will be able to launch its first smartphones within 2015. Indicative of Samsung's intentions is the video released by herself with the eloquent title "Display Centric World".
