The first Olympics for "bionic" people are expected to take place October of 2016 in Switzerland. The name of dorganizationit is Cybathlon. As mentioned on its website, it is a championship which is aimed at "pilots" ("pilots", as they are called "), who use advanced assistive devices, including robotic technologies.
Sports include various "bionic" technologies, such as knee, hand, exoskeleton, motorized wheelchairs, electrically activated muscles, and interfaces between brain and computer.

Competitors' devices may include commercially available products provided by companies, as well as prototypes developed by research laboratories. There will be two medals for each contest: one for the "pilot" and one for the provider of the respective device.
Cybathlon is organized by the Swiss NCCR Robotis (National Competence Center of Research in Robotics).

The main objectives of Cybathlon are to promote the development of innovative aid systems, to enhance the exchange of scientific information on these technologies, to inform the public about the challenges and opportunities in this field, and to provide pilots with the opportunity to participate in races.
More specifically, the six Cybathlon sectors are:
