The Electronic Crime Prosecutor's Office informs citizens about trying to capture personal data of an economic nature by sending deceptive emails
The perpetrators with messages κτλ)
These messages require a lot of attention, as they use payment service organization logos and are very plausible
Από την Διεύθυνση Δίωξης Ηλεκτρονικού Εγκλήματος της Ελληνικής Αστυνομίας ανακοινώνεται ότι το τελευταίο χρονικό διάστημα διακινείται μέσω Διαδικτύου απατηλό message email (e-mail), in which it is stated - falsely - that it is sent by a payment service organization. The goal is to mislead the recipient and capture credit card details and other sensitive personal and financial data.
In particular, the above emails inform recipients that they have to verify their personal details (credit card number, identity card, passport, tax identification number, security code, etc.). If they respond, these codes and data are used to make unauthorized / illegal financial transactions.
It is pointed out that these messages need great attention, as they appear extremely plausible. Internet users who receive such e-mails are requested not to select the proposed hyperlinks (links), not to respond to the messages, not to register and not to send personal data and credit card information, as they are in no way genuine, since banking and payment service organizations do not confirm such sensitive financial information electronically messages.
