German government websites, including Chancellor Merkel's, were "hacked" on Wednesday in a cyber attack it claimed responsibility for organization which requires the severance of his official relations Berlinwith the Ukrainian government.
The attack - against which countermeasures were taken, as reported by Reuters - made sites practically inaccessible from 11 in the morning (Greek time), as it became known.
The team took responsibility CyberBerkut with a post on her website. "Berkut" refers to the riot police units of former pro-Russian pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych, who fell during violent revolts at the beginning of 2014.
"CyberBerkut blocked the websites of the German Chancellor and the Bundestag. We are urging the people and the government of Germany to stop their economic and political support for the criminal regime in Kiev, which has started a bloody civil war, "he said. However, it has not yet been confirmed by independent experts if CyberBerkut is actually responsible for the attack.
