Darknet, also known as Dark Net or Dark Web, is a hidden part of the Internet, which can only be accessed using special software.
To mention once again that many confuse the Darknet with the DeepWeb or Deep Web, but it's not like that. The Dark Net is part of the DeepWeb and consists of approximately 400.000 hidden websites.
The Darknet can be accessed in a number of ways, but most users use Tor, a sophisticated anonymity technology developed by the US Naval Research Laboratory in the mid-90s.
In iGuRu.gr we have mentioned the dark net countless times as it is used by cybercriminals to cover the tracks of their illegal activities.
Let's mention once again that in Dark net you can find that an illegal product does not exist on the market, from weapons and drugs to child pornography material and cyber-war tools.
On the other hand in DeepWeb there are many other Internet users who use it to freely express their political opinions, government abuses, but also to exchange information in a secure and anonymous way.
The following infographic was created by BatBlue and it seems to be an effort of the company to introduce users to the basic principles of Dark Net, showing them how they can access it without losing their anonymity.
If you are a beginner in safety, you should read the infographic as it is a very good approach to the subject, listing a great deal of detail in a picture.
