Χθες το βράδυ, εγκατέστησα την διανομή Debian GNU/Linux 11 "Bullseye." Πρόκειται για μια δοκιμαστική έκδοση της επόμενης μεγάλης κυκλοφορίας της διανομής.
The development started a few months ago, and a few days ago was released the second alpha build of Debian Bullseye Installer.
Along with the 2 alpha Installers, however, Live DVDs are also released with the flavor you are interested in (if there is someone brave who is interested, or bored due to coronavirus).
- debian-live-testing-amd64-kde + nonfree.iso (With non-free firmware Live DVD)
- firmware-bullseye-DI-alpha2-amd64-DVD-1.iso (with non-free firmware full install ISO)
- debian-live-testing-amd64-kde.iso (Live DVD)
I did the installation from the first DVD, and it went fine. The installer as in all Live ISOs, is not the classic Debian installer, but the very simple and widespread Calamares installer.
My tests so far have not detected it errors. Of course I have mentioned many times that the beta versions of the Debian distribution are more stable than the stable ones of other distributions.
Κάθε δοκιμαστική έκδοση ξεκινάει σαν ένα αντίγραφο της προηγούμενης έκδοσης (στη συγκεκριμένη περίπτωση χρησιμοποιείται η τωρινή σταθερή έκδοση buster), και μετά αρχίζει να αναπτύσσεται περνώντας σε μια κατάσταση που λέγεται "δοκιμαστική (testing)."
This does not mean that your system will crash, because new packages are only allowed to move to this distribution after a certain period of time has passed and they have not been reported with critical bugs.
Το μόνο που θα πρέπει να προσέξετε στις δοκιμαστικές εκδόσεις είναι το ότι η ομάδα ασφαλείας δεν αναπτύσσει ενημερώσεις ασφαλείας για τη "δοκιμαστική (testing)" διανομή. Όμως αυτό δεν έχει και τόσο σημασία, καθώς με μια αλλαγή στο αρχείο sources.list διορθώνεται το πρόβλημα. Απλά αλλάξτε το URL της δοκιμαστικής έκδοσης
deb http://security.debian.org/ testing-security main
in the URL used by the fixed distribution (buster) (in the Security URL you do not need to add contrib non-free, a main arrives)
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian buster-updates main
If you are reading this post and are thinking of trying out Linux at some point, do not do it with the Debian distribution.
It may be one of the most stable around (they use it like base δεκάδες άλλες διανομές) αλλά αυτό δεν σημαίνει ότι είναι και εύκολη. Σχεδόν όλα όσα χρειάζεται ο υπολογιστής σας για να λειτουργήσει σωστά θα πρέπει να περάσουν με το χέρι (drivers γραφικών, Wi-Fi, printers etc).
