The Debian Project just announced the first update of the Debian 9 stable distribution (code name “stretch”).
The first update mainly adds fixes for themethe safety ones, along with a few tweaks for serious problems observed since the first version 9.
Security patches have already been published separately.
Keep in mind that point release is not a new version of Stretch, according to the distribution programmers, but only updates some of the packages included. So there's no need to throw away the old ISO Stretch.
After installation, packages can be upgraded to current versions using one of the updated mirrors of Debian Project.
Those who frequently install updates from security.debian.org will not need to update many packages as most updates are included in the point release.
The new ISO installations will be available soon in regular repositories.
Upgrading an existing installation to this revision can be accomplished by adding one of Debian Project's many updated HTTP mirrros to the package management system.
So if you want to upgrade first before receiving all the repositories of the distribution, you can add one of the updated mirrors.
