Debian GNU/Linux 9.2 Stretch maintenance update

The Debian Project announced today the release of the second update versionς συντήρησης της σειράς λειτουργικών συστημάτων Debian GNU/Linux 9 “Stretch”. Με τη νέα κυκλοφορία πρόσθεσε ένα σημαντικό αριθμό διορθώσεων σφαλμάτων και ενημερωμένων εκδόσεων security to the latest stable version.

Since two and a half months after release of Debian GNU/Linux 9.1, the Debian Project released several upgrades that come as updates from the official channels of popular distribution. The latest Debian GNU/Linux 9.2 update is a cumulative update to the installation ISOs.

“Note that point release is not a new release of Debian 9 but updates some of the included packages. No need to throw away the old stretch installation media. After installation, packages can be upgraded to current versions using an updated Debian mirror," reads today's announcement.

According to the Debian Project release for Debian GNU / Linux 9.2, it includes a total of 87 bug fixes and resolves 66 security issues in various applications and basic components of the operating system. It also upgrades the kernel to Linux 4.9.51 LTS, although the latest upstream version is 4.9.53.
