Debian Project: Debian, a well known operating system Unix-based computing, powered by the Linux kernel, yesterday marked 24 years of existence in the space since Ian Murdock first announced the Debian Project in 1993.
Since then, Debian Project has decided to designate 16 August Day as Debian Day to celebrate annually the anniversary of the project with organized social gatherings in various parts of the world.
"If you are close to any of the cities celebrating Debian Day 2017, you are welcome to join the party," says Laura Arjona Reina in a blog publishing. "If not, there is still time for you to host a small party or contribute to Debian."
Debian GNU / Linux is one of the most used and favorite operating systems among users of the Linux community. It is a distribution based on many popular distributions, including Ubuntu and Linux Mint.
