The DEFT (Digital Evidence & Forensic Toolkit) distribution is a custom distribution of it and offers an easy-to-use system that includes excellent hardware detection and support and some of the best open source applications for dealing with digital incidents and Forensic analyses.DEFT Zero

The new version is called DEFT Zero and comes in the 2017.1 version. It is much more compact and light, but it brings some useful new features.

“DEFT Zero 2.017.1 version ready for . I can finally announce that a stable version of DEFT Zero is available. DEFT Zero is a light version specially designed to perform digital evidence collection. Among the most important features is support for NVMExpress memory (MacBook 2015), eMMC and UEFI.

The new DEFT Zero version requires significantly less RAM and a CD-ROM or USB drive. It takes about 400 MB, with which it can even run in RAM on low hardware computers. Distribution is based on Lubuntu 14.04.02 LTS. ”
