Deluge is a complete BitTorrent cross-platform application, ie for many different operating systems.
This is a Free Software, licensed under GNU GPLv3 +, and follows the freedesktop templates, allowing it to work in many different desktop environments.
Deluge has many features in common with other well-known BitTorrent clients, such as Protocol Encryption, DHT, Local Peer Discovery (LSD), Peer Exchange (PEX), UPnP, NAT-PMP, Proxy support, Web seeds, global and per-torrent speed limits. The Deluge application uses the well-known library libtorrent, and so there is a huge list of features provided.
The Deluge application is designed to function both as a stand-alone desktop program and as a server (you know the seedboxes). In Thinclient mode, an application daemon manages all BitTorrent activity and is able to run systems remotely from any other platform.
User interfaces
There are three main user interfaces (UIs):
- GTK UI for desktop.
- Web UI for the program tours.
- UI command line console.
We should mention the BitTorrent application has a rich collection of Plugins that will help you make the most of Deluge and expand its functionality.
