H Digital ocean began informing its customers that the company is now public. The CEO of the company Yancey Spruill states in his email:
Today is a milestone in DigitalOcean travel - we are now officially a public company on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: DOCN).
While today is important, I want to reiterate that our focus on you and the community will not change. You are and will continue to be the foundation and inspiration for everything we do, because our mission is to simplify cloud computing so that developers and businesses to spend more time creating software that changes the world.
We will stay focused on meeting your unique needs as we provide new innovations to help you test your ideas and grow your business. We will expand our global footprint to help even more developers and entrepreneurs around the world realize the benefits of cloud computing. And we will continue to grow and invest in our community.
As part of our IPO, we announce our commitment to join the 1% Pledge movement. Pledge 1% is a global move by companies to commit a portion of their capital to serving their communities.
We commit at least 50 millions dollars over the next 10 years to expand the Hub for Good program, which we are renaming, Hollie's Hub for Good. The program honors Hollie Haggans, a beloved member of the DigitalOcean team and champion of our community who passed away earlier this month, and represents our commitment to our community to come together to solve the world's challenges.
Thank you for trusting us to try your ideas with us. We believe that we have just begun.
