Press release from PPC: The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate and the Cybercrime Prosecution Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece handled (8) cases of child pornography in June
(3) locals were arrested, while regular proceedings were filed against another (5) locals
The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate and the Cybercrime Prosecution Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece filed spontaneous and regular proceedings against (8) locals for online child pornography in June.
Ειδικότερα, κατόπιν αξιοποίησης πληροφοριών από αλλοδαπές Αρχές, στο πλαίσιο της διεθνούς αστυνομικής συνwork, διενεργήθηκε ψηφιακή ανάλυση – ενδελεχή διαδικτυακή έρευνα και εντοπίστηκαν χρήστες του διαδικτύου, εντός της ελληνικής επικράτειας, οι οποίοι κάνοντας χρήση συγκεκριμένων ηλεκτρονικών ιχνών, απέκτησαν access σε διάφορους ιστοτόπους – εφαρμογές και είχαν πρόσφορο προς διαμοιρασμό πλήθος αρχείων με υλικό πορνογραφίας ανηλίκων.
The above were brought to the attention of the Athens Prosecutor's Office and a committee was issued to lift the secrecy of communications.
Following the preliminary investigation and following relevant correspondence with the internet service providers involved, the details of the (8) locals and their home internet connections were disclosed, while their place of residence was also verified, where investigations were carried out.
Κατά τη διάρκεια των ερευνών, βρέθηκαν συνολικά και κατασχέθηκαν (5) εσωτερικοί σκληροί δίσκοι ηλεκτρονικού υπολογιστή, (9) συσκευές κινητού τηλεφώνου, εξωτερικός hard drive ηλεκτρονικού υπολογιστή, τάμπλετ και κάρτα αποθήκευσης (SD).
From the on-site digital search of the confiscated digital evidence of (3) locals, a number of files (photos and videos) of child pornography were found, acts for which they were arrested within the limits of the spontaneous procedure, while for (5) locals their involvement in illegal activity, but the conditions of the spontaneous procedure were not met.
The confiscated digital evidence will be sent to the competent Departments of the Directorate and Sub-Directorate of Criminological Investigations for further laboratory examination.
It is noted that the (3) locals with the cases that were formed against them were taken to the competent prosecutorial authorities, where they were charged with criminal offenses and referred to main trial.
The regular procedure files that were formed against (5) nationals, were submitted with the regular procedure to the competent prosecutorial authorities.
