"We are still in the process of dealing with it," a source who knows what is happening after the cyberattack unfolding in the Land Registry told protothema.gr on Friday morning.

According to the latest information, the hackers appear to have gained access to 1,2 GB of the 200 terabyte files. The information claims that these files are not documents containing sensitive personal information, but mostly official documents such as payroll records. At the same time, it is denied that the hackers had access to the database of the Ministry of Digital Governance.

According to the newspaper "Kathimerini", the cyber attack was carried out from two points: in the first case, hackers stole user passwords from employees of the Hellenic Land Registry and had access to their computers - in the second case, one of the system's servers was breached IT.

From the first moment, all the government agencies involved were mobilized to deal with cyber-attacks, while specialized teams were set up to deal with such crises, such as the Cyber Defense Department of the General Staff of National Defense.

Measures aimed at isolating networks and systems to block access by malicious users and software have already been taken and are ongoing.

Expert analyzes to date indicate that the attacks did not hit their targets on any critical infrastructure and all digital services remain effective, as noted by the Ministry of Digital Governance.
