Modern computers have an internal built-in speaker which, at least for the windows, emit a basic sound, which is usually a simple beep, in case we do not have some external speakers connected.
So, if your computer runs them Windows 10 and does not have peripheral speakers or the driver connected sound is not working or disabled, then you may sometimes hear an annoying beep, such as when a message box appears with a notification. If this beep bothers you and you are interested in turning it off, see below how you can do so.
Disable the sound of a PC speaker in Windows 10:
1. Turn right click on the button Inception on the taskbar.
2. In menu of the Start button, select Command Prompt (as administrator). An elevated command prompt window will open.
3. Type the following command:
sc stop beep
Αυτή η εντολή θα απενεργοποιήσει τους soundς αμέσως.
4. Now, type the following command:
sc config beep start = disabled
This command will disable the beep sound permanently, even if you rebootmovement of the computer.
In Windows 10, the computer speaker sound is controlled by the driver and a service called 'beep'. You can find it in the Registry at the following point:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ Beep
By tampering with this service via the command line you will see that you are actually tampering with the value of the DWORD “Start”. The disabled parameter corresponds to a value of Start = 4, while the default its value was Start = 1 which corresponds to the “system” parameter
Writing at the command prompt
sc config /?
you will get help with all the possible parameters of this command.
Good Luck.
