A counterfeit production of counterfeit credit cards

In the dismantling of a coin that had made purchases over 30.000 euro with hundreds of fake credit cards in Thessaloniki and Kilkis, Thessaloniki's security proceeded with the arrest of three members of the circuit.

The "mastermind" of the spiral, according to the police, was a 25-year-old Swedish national who, taking advantage of his excellent knowledge in the field of technology and participating in online discussions in his country, he identified websites that offered for sale credit card numbers that had been stolen online from their rightful owners.

Using virtual online currencies (), the perpetrator bought at least (1.085) such numbers.

Then, after procuring a suitable one and , created fake credit card "clones", which were printed with the logos of credit institutions, domestic and foreign, bore the names of three members of the ring as holder details and bore the numbers, which were different from those stored in their magnetic medium and changed every time these numbers were blocked by credit institutions.

With 2013's clone cards, the members of the criminal organization visited the shops of Thessaloniki where they made illegal transactions while at the same time they lived a luxurious life in hotels in the city.

Along with the 25-year-old, who has repeatedly engaged the authorities of his country for similar crimes, the police also arrested his 55-year-old uncle and a 44-year-old while they are looking for the other two members of the ring.

It is estimated, however, that the members of the organization made at least 212 transactions and offered goods and services whose monetary value exceeds 33.000 euro.
