Do-Not-Buy list from the United States: The US government has created a list of software companies that Americans should watch out for. Essentially, it requests that no purchases be made from these companies, according to the head of the Ministry's purchasing department Defense.
Ellen Lord, Reported According to Bloomberg, the so-called "Do-Not-Buy" list includes software and hardware from Russia and China because some of the companies "do not operate in accordance with our defense standards."
Lord said the Department of Defense, and its department in particular, worked closely with the IT community to identify software and hardware sources - many of which were protected through holding companies.
Once a company is on the Do-Not-Buy list, the government ensures that it will not be bought productfrom these companies. The names of the companies have not been revealed yet, although we already know some of them.
But the Do-Not-Buy list has sparked tensions between Russia, China and the West over both imports and exports of technology products, as Congress and the White House have imposed sanctions on ZTE and Huawei, which have accused for a long time of facilitating the espionage in Beijing.
Earlier this year, the government began the process of removing Kaspersky Security Software from its systems as it believes the product is sending data to Russia.
Similarly, China imposed restrictions last year on US networking devices because of worries that could be harnessed by US intelligence.
