From October 2010 and up to October of 2014 at the US Department of Energy, 1.131 was attacked against its infrastructure, of which 159 was successful.

The Department of Energy is a sought-after task primarily because it gathers information on the US power system, energy consumption and energy infrastructure.

In addition, the ministry also has multiple responsibilities in defining the country's energy policy, making the service very attractive to cyber-espionage groups.

According to the documents, 19 successful attacks occurred in infrastructure of the organization during the aforementioned period.

Most of the 90 attacks from the 159 set aimed at the Office of the Ministry of Science (DoE 's Office of Science), which houses the latest scientific research in the field of nuclear energy as well as that energy experiments are being done.

There is the general view that most of these attacks are carried out by cyber-espionage teams supported by foreign states.

Officials have ministry refused to comment on these incidents. Actually they did it, but in a totally wooden way and without saying anything important.
