Droidcon Greece is the Greek organization of the global conference focusing exclusively on the Android operating system.
The droidcon is an initiative launched in Berlin by 2009 as an annual Android community meeting and has evolved into a global event, with 23 countries already participating and constantly spreading. During the droidcon many parallel events take place which appeal to all technology enthusiasts.
The first event in Greece took place very successfully last year in Thessaloniki and welcomed 35 leading application developers who presented significant developments and capabilities of the Android operating system and responded to all questions from the public. The topics discussed openly with the public were many and interesting, and that particularly attracted the speakers who visited Greece just to solve the questions of local developers. The purpose of droidcon is to bring together experts and developers of applications with those who are interested in learning more and networking with people of common interest.
What we will see this year at the droidcon, because Android is so important, and why it is worth joining beyond the reasons mentioned 
Android is free/open software and free code το οποίο βασίζεται σε Java, μια ευρέως διαδεδομένη γλώσσα προγραμματισμού με πολλά εργαλεία. 2,6 δισεκατομμύρια άτομα χρησιμοποιούν Android και σε 4 χρόνια προβλέπεται να φτάσουν τα 6 δισεκατομμύρια, ενώ οι κατασκευάστριες εταιρείες κινητών που έχουν υιοθετήσει το Android ως λειτουργικό σύστημα ξεπερνούν τις 60, με τις Samsung, HTC, LG και Motorola να βρίσκονται ανάμεσα τους. Επιπλέον επειδή ακριβώς το Android χρησιμοποιεί ελεύθερο κώδικα δίνει την δυνατότητα στους προγραμματιστές και στις εταιρείες να δημιουργούν εξατομικευμένες εφαρμογές που δεν μοιάζουν η μια με την άλλη και στους χρήστες να προσαρμόζουν την εμφάνιση του λειτουργικού συστήματος σύμφωνα με τις προτιμήσεις τους.
In recent years, other manufacturers have invested and promoted the integration of Android software into everyday consumer products. An important example is the automakers who have built Android in their latest models, giving developers the chance to experiment with various features on the Android platform. The evolution of Android brings new challenges to developers, such as screenless devices, new sensors, new applications, many updates and much more to address in order to stay abreast of developments and new technological possibilities.
This year's event returns dynamically and is rich in parallel activities (talks & codelabs, Google I / O .recall, international expo, startup village, devs alley, barcamp & democamp) and covers a wide range of aspects of Android.

- Google I / O.recall
In addition to the speeches and codelabs that this year's droidcon Greece hosts, in collaboration with GDG Thessaloniki, it organizes the Google I/O .recall. In May, the annual Google conference that everyone waits for every year to hear the new products and tools of the colossal company took place in California. 30.000 people attended the company's headquarters in Mountain View to hear directly from Google CEO Sundar Pichai and the creative team about the company's news, while 530 events took place around the world to watch live streaming the conference. Among the company's announcements we heard about Google's new Assistant, the new improved version of Google Now, the Google Daydream platform that brings virtual reality to the new version of Android N, Android Wear 2.0, Google Home and the two new messaging applications Allo and Duo. So for those who could not attend the conference and want to be informed about what was announced, droidcon Greece and GDG Thessaloniki invite them to participate in Google I/O.recall in which invited Googlers will bring us the developments.
- Droidcon International Expo, Startup Village & Devs Alley
Three parallel activities open and free to the general public. In his place droidcon Greece International Expo & Startup Village companies, carriers and startups are invited to showcase their activity, products and technologies that they have and directly or indirectly related to the Android platform during their three-day event. Devs Alley invites Human Resources Consultants who want to get to know developers, IT professionals looking for new career opportunities and organizing scheduled interviews with them. It also enables participating companies, operators, start-ups and HR to organize workshops that will be open and free to the public. - droidcon barcamp and democamp
droidcon barcamp is an open event free to the public where developers and non-developers have the opportunity to present their work them through an interactive selection process by the audience at the barcamp stage. So if you have created an Android application or you are working on a project and you want to present it to the public among which there will be companies and investors from Greece and abroad, then all you have to do is fill out this form! If you choose to show it at this year's droidcon barcamp | July 7 in Noesis, you will enter the draw to win a ticket to the droidcon Greece 2016 event.
