After teasing for a year about 'Project Scorpio', n Microsoft finally revealed the new version of the diesel engine, Xbox One X, at the E3 show in Los Angeles today.
The machine is 4K capable and promises smooth display in full Ultra HD resolution along with HDR support. Microsoft says the powerful device will enable faster load times and further horizons in demanding gamea, as well as better graphics even on 1080p displays.
The Xbox One X comes with an 8-core processor paired with 6 teraflops of GPU and 5GB of GDDR12 graphics memory in a package that's 40% smaller from the original Xbox One. It also has liquid cooling to stop the noise. It has 1TB of storage, a 4K Blu-Ray disc drive and Dolby Atmos technology to enable surround sound.
When the console is released on 7 November for 499 dollars, 42 will display new game titles at the same time, including 22 that will be exclusive to One X. The roster includes:
- Forza Motorsport 7
- Crackdown 3
- State of Decay 2
- Metro: Exodus
- PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
- Assassin's Creed: Origins
- Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War
In addition, the One X will support all Xbox One games and accessories. Some new titles that have been classified as "Xbox One X Enhanced" will be able to take advantage of the improved editing capabilities of the new console, but will also run on Xbox One or One S with a little less pizazz.
