Users of Microsoft's new browser, Edge, which is based on Google Chromium, will soon be able to install themes designed for Google Chrome.
If any of you who are already using the browser, tried to install themes from the Chrome Web Store and found that it was not possible. The installation will stop showing a error, because quite simply the process is not supported in current versions of Microsoft Edge.
The Microsoft's new browser already supports the installation of Chrome extensions but must be enabled by the application options. But after a simple intervention, you will have access to the Chrome Extensions Store.
Microsoft has added a new feature to its latest browser version of Canary channel. The new setting allows users to install Chrome themes on Microsoft Edge. The feature is not enabled by default and should be unlocked from the browser's experimental features page.
How can you do that?
Update Microsoft Edge from channel Canary. You can check for updates from the internal address edge://settings/ help
If you have the latest version, open the internal address edge: // flags / # edge-allow-store-extension-themes.
You will see the option "Allow the installation of external store themes"
Allow themes to be installed from the store and enable the experimental mode using the menu on the right.
Finally restart your browser.
Open the topics page Chrome to try the new feature.
To remove a theme you do not like open the internal edge: // settings / appearance and you will see all the themes you have installed.
Note that Google displays a notification to Edge users visiting the Chrome Web Store. The notification says that Chrome is more safe to install these extensions.
