Η Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση προτείνει ένα νέο νόμο που απαιτεί εύκολα αντικαταστάσιμες μπαταρίες (επαναφορτιζόμενες μπαταρίες) σε όλες τις νέες electronic devices. The same law it also sets targets for the collection and recycling of these batteries, and requires 73% compliance by 2030.
Companies will receive many alerts, however, the requirement to comply will come into effect 3,5 years after the legislation comes into force. Companies will even be legally obliged to accept and recycle old batteries.
In addition, the European Commission is expected to consider putting except to legislate the use of non-rechargeable portable batteries, although this will probably happen with many exceptions and not before the end of the decade.
