The Chinese company Ehang introduced its first electric passenger drone at CES in January. The company is now preparing to fly the world's first unmanned "unmanned aircraft" to Nevada later this year.
The company works with the Nevada Institute for Autonomous Systems (NIAS) and the Governor Office of Economic Development (GOED) to secure the regulatory approval needed for the upcoming Ehang 184.
The company states that autonomous Its drone, which it calls the “184,” will be able to take off vertically and carry a passenger for 23 minutes at an altitude of 11.500 feet at 63 miles per hour to their destination and nowhere else but their destination.
Ehang will have to prove to the US Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) that the drone he has built is safe to use and that he can start operating with wider capabilities. So the company is preparing to conduct its testing on unmanned aircraft systems in the FAA Testing Area in Nevada.
Don't expect to see the 184 anytime soon though centre της πόλης να κάνει μεταφορές σε ρόλο αεροταξί.
