PLEASE pay attention to this SMS

A new SMS scam claiming to be a "heating allowance" has begun to arrive on citizens' mobile phones, according to the Greek Police.

According to a post by ELAS on social media, the SMS states "You have received the heating allowance" along with a link that supposedly leads to the AADE website.

“Have you received an SMS about the heating allowance? Don't rush to click on it. It's a scam,” the ELAS publication states. And it continues:

  • Always check the sender
  • Don't open links in suspicious messages
  • Do not share personal or banking information

It should be mentioned that during the week, ELAS had published another warning about another case of fraud via SMS, for an alleged fine for a violation of the Road Traffic Code.
