Elon Musk because he changed his name to Elona Musk

Ο Elon Musk changed his name on Twitter to "Elona Musk" on Wednesday, when Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov mocked the billionaire.

Kadyrov, the leader of the Russian republic of Chechnya and an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, referred to Musk several times on Tuesday in response to a tweet from Tesla CEO causing Putin to "duel".

In a Telegram post, the warlord said Putin would win Musk in a battle. He called Musk "tender Elona" and made comparisons between the two men, saying they were in "two completely different weight classes". He called Putin a "global politician, a general, an enemy of the West and the United States," and described Musk as just a "businessman and Twitter blogger."

Musk reiterated his challenge to Putin and told him that the President's training would give him an "excessive advantage". The billionaire signed his tweet as "Elona" and changed his name on Twitter with the nickname given to him by Kadyrov.

In Russia, "Ilona" is a female name. So "Elona" seems to be a female form of Musk's name, with which Kadyrov seems to imply that Musk is not a man enough to face Putin.

Kadyrov is known as one of Putin's biggest supporters. The near-autonomous Republic of Chechnya, officially ousted by Putin in 2011, is known for its crimes against LGBTQs, as well as forcing underage girls to marry. In an interview with an HBO reporter in 2017, the warlord said he was proud that the Chechen Republic did not have LGBTQs, and if they had stayed, the country would have "cleansed its blood".

Kadyrov has been repeatedly accused of widespread use of torture, disappearances and the murder of members of the LGBTQ community.
