Facebook is down. Thousands of users have reported being automatically logged out and a message appears saying the account will be temporarily unavailable.
You can follow live user reports at Downdetector to see when the problems facing the largest social network will be fully restored.
The outage also affects Meta's other apps. Thousands of users are currently reporting massive problems on both Instagram and Messenger. The issue is global and is due to a central problem with the company's servers.
What is happening right now:
- Facebook & Messenger: Users are automatically logged out of the computer and see the message “Account Temporarily Unavailable”.
- Instagram: The application crashes, the feed does not refresh and messages (DMs) are not sent.
- WhatsApp: For now it seems to be working better, but there are isolated reports of delays in sending messages.
Where you can monitor the status:
- On his reports page Downdetector Instagram for live updates.
- On X (Twitter) via the hashtag #FacebookDown.
As the issue is technical and concerns Meta, there is no need to change your password or delete the apps. Access will be restored automatically once technicians fix the issues.
Although the press releases will range from very select to rare, I said I'd pass...because sometimes the editors hide.
