Η IPv6rs launched a new one-click auto-hosting system for the first time. The company states:
Everyone talks about self-hosting, but we didn't understand why it wasn't productive. So we conducted an investigation to find out why. It turned out that the two most common reasons were:
1. Lack of external IP address and
2. Very difficult to set up and maintain
The IPv6rs service already solves the first problem.
“We started with a self-hostathon to understand what was blocking the creation and operation of a self-hosting server.
We needed to make things easier, so we created Cloud Seeder, a one-click installer that instantly boots a fully integrated, externally accessible server appliance.
At the time of release, the current version of Cloud Seeder supports 20+ different apps that you can easily install and run (Mastodon, Nextcloud, WordPress, Ghost, and more) and provides an enterprise-grade self-hosting alternative.
It also automatically manages updates and maintenance.
The company hopes that this will usher in a new era in self hosting which in turn will bring back the decentralized internet.
Is the era of self hosting coming back?
