ESET: Co-ordinated efforts by various law enforcement agencies across the globe have resulted in the Avalanche network being shut down, which for several years has offered several botnet operators extra protection against domain blacklisting and blacklisting.
ESET advises users to control their computers through the free tool ESET Online Scanner to determine if they have been infected by any of the botnets who used the network. The tool removes harmful content that it finds on the system for free.
Avalanche is a network known as fast-flow or constantly changing, and consists of malicious hosts that act as proxy servers.
This technique makes it difficult for security experts to map the attack infrastructure and determine the actual command & control server.
ESET has a long history of supporting law enforcement efforts worldwide against cases maliciousυ λογισμικού, μεταξύ των οποίων συγκαταλέγεται η υπόθεση του Dorkbot botnet – που μόλυνε χιλιάδες υπολογιστές κάθε εβδteam – καθώς και η Επιχείρηση Windigo, which stole personal information and redirected web traffic to malicious content.
