Commentary by Jake Moore Global Government Consultantbetter safetyof ESET:
“Unfortunately, Russian threat actors trying to undermine Western democracies is not news. The fundamental pillar of all democracies is free and fair elections and voting. Reports from investigations as well as their own claims demonstrate that Russian cyberattacks are focused on election processes and infrastructure. DDoS attacks are nothing new, but they can be very powerful. On the other hand, of course, they are very easy to deal with with today's technology. Strengthening security and creating DDoS-resistant environments is not impossible. The current geopolitical situation requires concerted efforts for cross-border security at the physical level as well as in cyberspace to safeguard democracy."
